Hybrid Pianos

At the head of the class in innovation, Yamaha designed the first hybrid piano in 2009 and has incorporated continuous refinements since. A full 6” less deep than an acoustic piano, the NU1XA is a synthesis of the action of Yamaha’s U1 professional upright with Yamaha’s premium sound engine. When only an acoustic piano action is acceptable, this fits the bill, and then some! A Non-Contact Articulation Sensor System enables the player to coax astonishingly varied timbres from the instrument. With 256-note polyphony, every nuance is captured. Twenty-eight sound samples including Yamaha’s legendary CFX concert grand and Bosendorfer Imperial grand let your musical imagination soar! It also boasts a handsome ebony polish cabinet and slow close fallboard just like its cousin, the U1.
