After 40 Years, A New Chapter
A letter to the musicians, families, teachers, and friends of Randee's Music
Randee's Music has been a cornerstone of Rockford's music community for 40 years. This year, our retail storefront at 4116 Morsay Drive will close following a store-wide farewell sale beginning August 10, 2026, with the final day of retail operations expected in mid-September.
Co-owners Randy Lee and Joel Ross opened Randee's Music in 1986 with a simple mission: to share the joy of making music. Over four decades, the store grew into far more than a retailer — it became a gathering place and a center of influence for musicians, families, students, teachers, churches, and schools across the greater Rockford area.
The farewell sale offers significant savings — up to 50% off the store's full inventory, including acoustic and digital pianos, keyboards, guitars, amplifiers, PA and sound reinforcement equipment, sheet music, music books, accessories, and store fixtures.
We are so thankful to our loyal customers who supported the ‘local guys’ all these years. We're equally grateful to our dedicated staff who shared our vision and helped make Randee's a place where people felt at home.— Joel Ross, Co-Owner
To Rockford's Music Teachers
A special acknowledgment goes to the many local music teachers who trusted Randee's with their students and helped build a thriving musical community in Rockford. Your partnership over the decades has been essential to this store's legacy.
The Music Continues
The closing of the storefront is not the end of Randee's Music. Lee plans to continue serving customers through a smaller operation focusing on pianos, acoustic guitars and service with more online presence at randeesmusic.com and other social media channels. Stay tuned in for more information to come:
